So my aimara is healing with his fins which is great but I have noticed this damage to his snout that looks like pin holes reminding me of HITH that I had on my rhom. No idea how he would have HITH seeing it is not common with wolves, he is young, his diet is dead food soaked in vitachem and I do 50% water changes every 5 days. Here are some pics. Feel like I have been having never ending issues with every fish I got after my rhom.

I do have extremely hard water but did not have this issue with the prior aimara I had. I was using peat moss somewhat regularly with him though so I am thinking of introducing it into this tank.

Although wolf fish come from all water types, the kind you have, may have come from a black water location (northern S America).
If this is so, tannins (natural bactericides) added to the water might be help.
Many south American fish that come from black water have a low immunity to bacteria that live in hard water and end up scarred from HITH, Geophagines, Uaru, Oscars are examples.
You can try bags of peat, soaking leaves, even tea bags to add tannins.
I soak magnolia, oak and maple leaves, and add the tannin enriched water to my water change water for these black water type species.

duanes duanes just saw this reply. First thing I did was actually hang a bag of pest in my tank. Plan on replacing it every 2-3 weeks probably.
