Hitting head on filter?

You guys that use hanging filters have problems with your FH bumping head into it when feeding pellets? Mine keeps getting scales on his head cut when he goes up to get the pellets behind filter.

You could try feeding slower so there is less floating around the tank.

Turn the filter off when feeding, that way the food stays in one spot and not be blowing all over places where your fish will hit his head trying to get it. That's one reason why I don't like HOB's, the corners can be pretty sharp

Take a piece of sturdy filter foam and shove it up into the grove behind the water returns, it won't foul up if you get it packed in right where there's no room for food to get in and rot.
