good afternoon all i have just joined your forum and look forward to saying hi to who ever wishes to comunicate. Me and my Wife have just elevated up to our first monster fish tank its 6' long by 18" depth by 21" heigh now for the filters we decided apon an FX5 from reading the comments on this forum and others also we wish to introduce our fluval 405 once we move the fish into the new setup(4th day fresh start) we followed the path recomended here on using biomax type media in all three baskets with the adition of a carbon sack in top basket just to aid filtration(any help there would be greatfully recieved)
we are not new to keeping fish but new to the larg tanks. we have an 8 port air pump thats rated for a 24" depth so should be sutable as it is running an air curtain thats 4 foor along the back of the tank and a few other air stones to keep the oxygen levels up in the tank as that is one thing we have learned to our loss. now for the silent s******s our collection of fish we keep fancy goldfish(can hear you in the back row) but wish to take them to there full glory as they are the size of tennis balls already and with to see the size they would actually grow too, also in the tank are two weather louches that we have had from an inch, and now around 8-8.5 inches long(oh all our fish were from baby size) plus two banjo(we call them that) louches that clean the glass on old corner tank thinking they will have a shock when the get moved and ask for more pay ha ha any way thats enough to bore you with for now and hopfully we will add a few pictures once it is all settled and running. any comments please feel free to express your views as its the only way we have learned listening to what others knowlage the pass on.
thank you for reading this far (have a good yawn)
