no where
ok if i were to turn my 112 into a hamster tank, what type and what kind and how many could i do? i may do that cause im not able to care for my fish well. and may sell my eheim 2250. so any inputs? any other ideas? ( nothing like a snack or repile but easy to care for animal ) and if i sold my eheim 2250 who would want it and how much? if i sold it, that would help me to get started with my hamster keeping.

Why are you not able to care for your fish well? Would these issues not apply to other animals? Consider that before moving on to other species.

If you want to keep hamsters or other small mammals, you should consider selling your tank and buying a whole new setup. Mammals need really good ventilation, and so wire cages are generally better than solid-sided cages. You could keep a fairly large group of dwarf hamsters in a cage similar in size to your tank. Rats would also be a good choice- they are easy to care for and (in my experience) more interactive than hamsters.

well i cant do weekly water change and i cant keep my temps at a stable temputure. ive raised hampsters before so there nothing new to me. hmmm maybe your right. i should just sell my tank and all and get everything new.http://www.petco.com/product/100111...-Traveler.aspx?CoreCat=HamsterHPCagesHabitats if i got that, how many hamster would i beable to do in there? and i can care for hamsters really well.

I would say two to three hampsters would fit comfortably in there depending on which kind you get. Although when my gf had hampsters she started with one(pregnant) and didnt know it, and ended up with 26 by the time she was able to separate all the females and males. Dont have them anymore, thank god, but be careful when you buy them or you could end up with more than you want. Sorry to hear you're getting out of the hobby. Maybe just downgrade to a smaller tank, look into cherry shrimp and a school of tetra in a 29g planted. Smaller wc's and you might be able to stabilize the temp of a smaller tank easier.

I'd guess no more than two, but I am no hamster expert. I think you'd get better information on a hamster forum. A quick Google search for "hamster forum" should get you started.

well really need the money moreso. and miss raising hamster. i WILL get back into the hobby though, thats a deffinate yes! but times like these, its easer to raise hamster then fish atm. i use to have 3 in a cage i posted the link to back in the day. i know i sound like a kid but lol i miss raising hamster and it doesnt have no cost on the elec bill VS raising fish what need heaters and water change. so i made a post in the for sale thread..

Im not a huge fan of keeping hamsters together, although I've never kept them personally, it seems like at some point people end up with one literally ripped apart by the others because they don't like each other as they get older. The only time I would keep hamsters together is for breeding

several dwarf hamster

so that can hold up to 5 dwarf hamsters? if so then which sex get along better ( and most likly will have 3 really ) before i had all females but thinkin all males get along better?
