so just about 6 months back i had a bad ich problem on my flower horn only. i fought it about a month until i decided to remove all my rocks and gravel and treat it with salt. and what do you know it works!! and last week i decided to put my rocks back in only not my gravel, after soaking/rinsing them in really HOT water. and this morning i see my flower horn just sitting on the bottom. he usually comes up to the surface when i come near the tank. i turn the lights on and see small white spots on him resembling guess what? ich again!!! -_-. does my ich problem have anything to do with my rocks? im going to try to put salt in and see what happens in a few days. but does anyone have inputs on this?

If the rocks were dried, or even just seperated from the fish for a couple weeks then it is not due to the rocks, however if the rocks are somewhat toxic or rapidly change the pH then they can lower the resistance of your fish to disease. There is a possibility that some parasites survived treatment the first time and are now spreading. Hidden low level infestations can occur without visual symptoms if the parasite is under the gill covers or scales.
