Hmmm Midas X king kamfa?

Well I am thinking of picking up a male Midas or red devil this weekend and attempting to cross it with my female king kamfa. Any thoughts or experiences to this? Could this pair work? And what results of fry would I get, a Midas with pearls? Thanks guys sorry if it's a dumb question but I want to try something different.

Yes it would work, but you might end up with some bland looking fish and a few nice one. You should see if you could find a nice male Carpintis or Cyano, that would make some interesting fry.

Ideally I would say find a nice male Vieja but its gonna be harder to breed it.

Arnt vieja very picky? I mean my female is picky as it is so I can go through a few males if she ever decided to pair up

Yes they are picky about their mates. But if you could pull it off you would get some really nice Kamfas.

Typically if you wanna get more red you'd use a synspila, and I don't know about other parts of the country, but they're usually available around here or at least it's not hard to find one. Bifa and hartwegi are the other two popular ones to cross with.

Like Chris said above, some will look bland, some will fade, some won't. It's a hybrid though so you never know what you might come up with, at least from a select fry.
