well lately i've been in a fishkeeping slump of sorts. i can't find the black sand i want, i haven't had as much time to do waterchanges as normal (i still make sure all levels are fine though) and lately i've had a krib just get sick and die, a young senegal die from not eating, another young senegal die from choking on a worm, 2 needlefish get eaten by my oscar, a butterfly fish get eaten by my oscar...

i think i need to start doing something to get me out of this slump. i'm thinking i'm going to buy a fish or two tommarow just to make me feel a little better. maybe something normal and simple like a dwarf gourami for my 10 gallon thats sitting empty.

Simple tanks always get me out of my spells. Get 3 fancy guppies in a 5.5g. Or start a little nano-planted tank, or have a single specimen nano-tank. A lone gourami that is well taken care of in a 10g is always fun... I think, personally anyways. It's got a certain personality to it, you know.

went on vacation, oscar eats needlenose and butterfly, i think well thats cause he wasn't fed for 3 days, get another LARGER needlenose, wake up to find it half in my oscars mouth, i hit him with a net and he spits him up, but he is now almost dead, and dies a couple hours later.

i think i'll clean up my 10 gallon and grab a dwarf gourami of some sort and a couple guppies, maybe a couple corries and i'll try to transform it into a simple planted tank.

I get in slumps as well. The little planted tank sounds like a great Idea. Doing some sort of completely new and different project always gets me back into it. :)

When I am in a slump I always buy a fish or something fish related that I have been wanting. A special fish or a new tank. That always seems to revitalize me.

Hiya! I've got jewel babies too! Still with momma and dadda, haven't a fry tank set up yet, tho' a 50 is waiting in the wings. Congrats!

Your perfectly fine posting it in a comment, and welcome to MFK! :grinno:
