HO-T5 vs MH's

Okay so after doing some searching around brisvegas i found some T5's.the tank im interested in setting up is 2.5x2.5x2H ft.(75x75x60H cm), around 335L or 90gallons. i can afford either so all im interested is in which is better for plants and also what is the recommended Kelvin rating.

also. anywhere to get 2.5 ft lighting as i understand that t5's need to be above the water level. as do mh's

Either will work well for that tank. Personally, I'd run the HO T5 as the output is great, the bulbs can be purchased in many more sizes, and the bulbs are cheaper. Helios makes a 30" HO T5 bulb. The optimum range for plants is 5000K-10,000K, a standard bulb is 6500/6700K bulbs.

Retrofit kits, and Helios makes a 30" bulb, therefore, they make a 30" fixture.
