hob filter or canister filter

whats a better filter to run a canister filter or a hang on filter i have a aqua clear 110 and a fluval 405

what size tank? id use them both. dual sponge in the ac110 and all ceranic in the canister.

Either will do fine. Running both won't hurt but it's not needed unless you have a super heavy bio load

First I would use them both regardless of the tank size. They both have there benefits. The Aquaclear filters a lot and can be cleaned weekly with out a lot of work. The Fluval you obviously have to take apart and reassemble but it does not require the frequency of cleaning.
