i have a 150g i am going to set up later this year, and a few HOB filters laying around.
most people use wet/dry or cannister for a larger tank, but since i have some laying around would they work?

i have 3 for a 70 gallon tank at 300 g/h each. any pros or cons to using them instead of a cannister or wet/dry??

the tank will house 3 p.bass, a TSN, and a silver aro. all around 6-9 inches, as they grow out. it will be lightly planted, and i am religious about staying on top of my water changes and water quality.

It will work, but for the best water quality and easiest mantenace, I would build a W/D. I would also leave at least one of the HOB's on the tank afterwards. W/D's have the greatest surface area for bb as long as it is set up right.
