Hey,

I just got a new HoB filter.

I can't get it to hang on the back without being on an angle, it's being blocked by the piece of glass that runs along the front and back.

Should I just put it on an angle or does it have to go on the side?

odd....looks like you're going to have to leave it on the side. or cut the glass a bit. if you leave it on the side i'd put one at either end...

edit: cut the hood a bit with a dremel if need be. or just get a canister

Just get a canister. It would be the best/easiest choice

you already bought the HOB and if you got one that is big enough for your tank, it will work fine. don't go out and buy other stuff yet. Just get some snips and cut back the "glass" so your HOB can fit on the back. for smaller tanks, HOB are awesome for the money. even a small canister will cost you probably triple what you paid for the HOB

Put something between the base of the HOB and the back of the tank...and its level! wow

Yea I can't see any canisters costing $11 aus, I don't even need this I just wanted extra filtration..

Would removing the glass that runs along the sides be a bad thing?

i would think not because it doesnt seem like the glass even does anything
