HOB or canister for 30 gallon tank?

I have a 4 inch flower horn in a 30 gallon tank and running an old aqueon filter. I will transfer the FH in to a 65 gallon in about 6 months. I want to buy either a Fluval C4 or a Fluval 306 canister. In leaning towards canister. Just wanted to hear your opinons on pro and cons of each? I never used a canister before.

Canister is a lot better. It has more surface for bacteria growth and is much quieter.

I dont know to much about flowerhorns, but if you dot mind the price and maintenance, get a canister

I don't mind at all. Canister it is.
On maintenance do I wash every thing every month in the Canister?
