So we all know hob filters are inadequate due to the fact that without modification they pull water from right under the output.

In my 4' tanks ive fixed this, and I thought I would bring my idea to you guys, so everybody can benefit.

Take a powerhead. Put it on the opposite side of the tank as the hob. Stick a hydro sponge on the intake and a 1/2" tube on the output of the powerhead and run the output directly to the intake of your hob.

Problem solved.

Water is pulled through your sponge, and forced directly to the other side of the tank into your hob where you store more bio material and whatever the hell else you need.

Yessir. I will snap a couple tomorrow when i get home from work.

I am running a marineland 150 and 350 on a 55 gallon with a marineland 400 powerhead pushing into the 150 and an aquaclear 50 powerhead pushing to the marineland 350.

Ive got a delhezi and Senegalus along with a black convict and an electric blue jack dempsey in the tank. (All around 3-4") and i feed HEAVY with almost no notable waste on a bare bottom tank.
