I just got a 55 gallon tank for 10 bucks, im building a stand. i dont want to spend alot on a filter, so i thought i could build a 10 gallon wet/dry. Now im second guessing my discussion. I could just go spend 70 on a aquaclear 110, but thats alot of money. I just want to know which filter is better, which is cheaper, easier.

a wet/dry is better, but typically it's a bit more expensive. In your situation I would go with a HOB or find a larger container to use as the sump. a 10g is too small and will probably overflow when power fails.

Better? wet/dry. Extremely low maintainance, for me atleast.

cheaper? aquaclear

too bad petco/petsmart dont have them for 29.99 like they use to online. I bought 2 before I think for backup/hospital tanks and wow am I glad I got them when I did.

that fish place has penguin 350s for 30 bucks each you could get 2 for the price of a ac110.....run both and if you need to set up another tank you have a cycled filter....

i think ill go with with an aquaclear 110 and mod a biowheel to fit it.
