Cleveland, Oh.
Sorry haven't been on the site in awhile and i was catching up on some postings and came across stocking a 180g. I come to found out that my 180g is over stocked. I have
9" red texas
9" texas hybrid
6" gold saum x2
6" jaguar
10" hi-fin pleco
8" tire track eel
I know what you are thinking an eel in that group. But my cichlids pay no attention to him. Shoot i was thinking about a 4 line pim but i better not. especially if you go by 10" for 50g

although you have some large fish there ,it would depend on the fish themselves weather you could add an other , also on your filtration and your dedication to routine maintenance will determine how well stocked your tank can be . also remember your fish are not fully grown yet and even though adding another fish now might not look overcrowded it will be a different story when your current stock is at full size , infact will most likely req thinning out some , to be honest i would leave as is ,and in no time your tank will look full .

I totally agree i do weekly 50% h2o. 2 Rena xp3 and a magnum 400 getting ready to remove the hang-on and add another xp3. I couldn't believe 10" to 50 gallons.

sounds like your on the ball with your w/c and filtration , dont think you would have two much of a problem putting the pim in there , again all depends on the fish though , some fish will easily claim 50gal to them selves at 10" others would not care less as long as there water quality is up to scratch , i would say someone who does only a water change every few weeks (i personally know people who do them once every few months and wonder why my fish grow much larger than theres) or doesn't over filter there tank should stick to 50 gal for 10" on central and south Americans , obviously as you get more experienced you get a better understanding to the bio load on your tank and should be able to judge what your limits are , i personally would not hesitate to put the pim in that tank ,but like you i am very over filtered and i have a very religious water change schedule
