Acrylic or glass?

You could use PVC connectors and caps.

Or

2" patches cemented or siliconed in place..Either way use clamps to put pressure on patches till they are cured.

P.S. some people would commit bodily harm to have those holes in their tanks...:D

PVC connectors and caps would be really quick, but maybe not the most asthetically appealing solution.

I was thinking along the lines of siliconing a peice of glass/acrylic over the hold, front and back. Might look tacky though.

Glass as a patch (if it is glass) silly-cone it in place ... inside only

I for one wish I had them in a couple of my tanks....

You could put a pvc pipe from one to the other :)

Your best option IMO is something a bit less perminate than a patch. A short 2" threaded connector and two caps come to mind.

I patched two tanks about 12 years ago two pieces of glass one on the inside one on the outside and filled the hole with silicone then sealed the patches up. They are still up and running today with no problems
