hole on the scale of Asian aro

Does anyone know what the hole on the scale of Asian aro represent? I use it (hole count)as a way to see how much my aro has grown.

I doubt that it represent anything. Just a lateral line found on almost all fishes.

The lateral line is like a fishes 6th sense, it can detect movement in the water by sensing electrical current given of by other fish when they move.

Same on my rtg i know its the lateral line but im positive mine has got bigger.

those holes are the lateral line and all aros have them

Has anyone count how many holes make up the lateral line? My aro have 23 and it's about 19inches. I just wondering if we can used these lateral holes to determine the age of the aro.
