I have four holes at one end of the tank. The 2 in the middle are 1 3/4" and the outside 2 are 1". This would make my bulkhead 1" i.d and 1/2" i.d. Are they big enough to get the flow for a 720 gallon? Also all the holes are at one end. Will it circulate evenly?
well the holes are good i hope cause i just ordered the bulkheads. How about help with a pump. Looking for a turn over of 4 times. 3000 gph at 10ft of head. 150 gal diy sump is going in the basement.
You will probably not be able to get enough flow, unless your waterline is several inches above the top of the standpipe. I HAD 2 2" PVC couplers as my overflow on my 200gal, and I had to make a third 2" opening to get the water level away from the lip of the tank. Nevermind that a small floating leaf or chunk of fish food will block one of the openings periodically... (the way mine is set up anyways).
Just got back from the lfs and he set me right up. No one around here has monstertanks and he use to do custom setups for the wealthy. He has everything i need and is letting it go for next to nothing. He called it the dust sale. A 6 foot acrylic tower filled with over 3000 bio-ball (never used)for 70 bucks. lol I told him ill give ya hundred. All the pipes -plumbing-sponges etc. for next to nothing-brand new to. As for your signature cvermeulen- Im trying not to take it the wrong way but i am. That is what this site is for (to educate and help)and who are you to say something like that.
Maybe I should make it more clear. It's not supposed to discourage people from asking questions... My point is basically that if the answer can be found on google in under 5 minutes, it shouldn't be asked on a forum (this applies to any and every special interest forum). Make the ATTEMPT to find the answer yourself before asking someone else to do it for you.
Nope-- I come right here to the community i have learned to trust.People with experience and love for aquaria. There are many members that love to give out the help others need. So if you want people to look elsewhere than dont make another post to help eh. Any MOD. would be pissed to see that sig. if they where asking for help.
This is a 720g tank???? I have 4 1.5" bulkheads on my 450g. They are at the top of the water level, just drilled in the back. They also have screens on them. The water level has to rise a good 1" above them for them to have enough pressure to drain 2xmag36 at about 6' of head.
