Im thinking of making a 6x2x2 glass tank @ work. I work at a glass shop:) Can I drill 4 holes in the back panel of glass and install bulkheads....thus draining down into my sump? And then place two return lines above them?

Will it work?

I like horizontal overflows, quieter and safer, but at the cost of flow rate. Horizontal flows slower the a vertical stand pipe.

Been workn @ the glass shop 3 weeks now. A buddy of mine owns the shop. Glass and acrylic are spendy. It costs about $400 to make a 6x2x2 out of 1/2",...a lot cheaper than a new tank. So far we have messed around and made a 12''x12''x12''....lol.
