If the wolf is introduced after it they're settled it may be possible. I've had a 12" mala in the past live with a pair of 4" convicts he could've easily eaten but left alone, they were in there prior to him, I thought maybe he doesn't like live and tried introducing a pair of jewel cichlids the same size as the convict, they were gone the next day and the wolf had a fat belly. I've read of others experiencing similar things but have also read of the opposite.
This won't be the case with every wolf, they have their own personality so yours may eat them regardless. If you must try it put the scombs in first. Keep the wolf very well fed, and try to make hiding spots on separate sides of the tank and leave the rest open imo, that'd be the best setup. Then your worry will only be if the wold is territorial aggressive to them. Cause I'm sure it will have no problem biting them in half. My mala never bothered fish as long as they weren't directly in front of his face, if they were he made them move with ease.
