I've been thinking of somehow creating a hollow log for my 75 gallon.

How could I do this and make sure it's safe?

make sure u use driftwood.....then you could bore the inside of the driftwood out with a cheap drill bits from harbor freight. P.S. make sure you rinse all the sawdust out with rainwater.
