Yesterday I struck gold when I caught 2 baby bandit angelfish (Holacanthus arcuatus). The size of both are 3 1/4" and they look identical. I only caught them yesterday and already they are both eating frozen mysis shrimp! I can send a short video from my cell phone to anyone upon request to prove that they are indeed eating. Also, they have been perfectly decompressed, have no blemishes, defects, torn fins, or anything else that would flaw these beauties. Usually bandit angelfish are known to do poor in captivity because they don't eat regular foods--mostly sponges... well that is true for the specimens collected that are over 5". Anything under 5" though is another story. Rarely do the small, desireable specimens touch U.S. soil as they are almost all sold to Japan (the big spender on angelfishes). It is the small ones that do best in captivity and eat prepared foods readily because of their exceptionally high metabolism. Well.... I am happy to say that I have chosen to offer these 2 on Monster Fish Keepers first before I start making phone calls to the far East.... My price per fish is only $700 each and they are not a pair, so yes they are being sold seperately. In Japan the retail on this size is approx. $1500 each!!!!! I have included photos of each one to emphasize the size. You can tell that they are different fish by comparing the dorsal rays of each fish. I can be contacted at by email (robert@cidiving.com) or just PM me.

Id say good luck with the sale, those are great looking fish...

But I have to wonder if you caught them illegally from the ocean... If so, advertising might get you in big trouble.

As a note before this post goes South--- Yes I am a licensed tropical fish collector in the state of Hawaii. This fish is 100% legal to collect, but because of it's depth of collection (215ft. deep) and size rarity the prices are very high for this species. Remember, the most expensive fish in the world is the peppermint angelfish from Roratonga, Cook Islands---$20,000.

Glad you added that. Its nice to know my fellow enthusiasts are responsible keepers :D

Actually, I think those white arowana topped out at a $50,000 offer, that was turned down. I may be wrong tho ;p

I got a Nano running in my kitchen...I am definately considering this deal a go with me....I am sure finding a buyer out here will be easy....Probably spend a good $grand$ on it too....
