I did track down arapiamag a little while back, but he declined.
I can say, as far as edotero's amazing room, although we do look for something really nice, we also look for rooms that stand out because they are quirky and have a lot of personality. It doesn't always have to be pristine. The show is very laid back and light hearted in that way.
If any of you have ever watched 'What's With That House" on HGTV, this new show is basically a spin off of that. Same host, similar vibe.
I actually have my own "Guy Room" which is our shed in the backyard. It's got an easy chair and christmas lights. I go out there to write and smoke my briar.
