Home Depot=Fail

Argh Home Depot is useless. The thickest acrylic they have is 1/4" and glass tops out at 3/32". They looked at me funny when I asked about ordering either in 1/2". I guess this means I can't get my supplies from around the corner (I literally live right behind a HD).

The glass at Home improvment stores is also only single strenght and will not whold up to the abuse it sees as a fish tank top.

Go to a lumber yard most the time they can order what you need.

you need heat tempered glass, and the ONLY place you're going to get that is from a GLASS STORE..

buying plain glass in a hardware store isn't going to work.

hmmm.. i didn't think about drilling it. do they drill the glass before the heat tempering? or do they just buy thicker glass instead of having it heat tempered for drilled tanks?
