I WAS WONDERING IF THE PLAYGROUND Sand that is for sale at home depot good for my cichlids.

Play sand is more fine than pool filter sand so it has to be cleaned longer. I like the whiter shade of the play sand but it shows dirt quicker and gets stirred up easier which is why most prefer pool filter sand. Play sand is cheaper but only like 2 dollars for a giant bag.

As others have said its perfectly fine, I have it in my aquariums and no major problems with it.

silica from hell.....your diatom bloom will be bad....I used it once....never again....nitrates out the ass....it's basically mud if and when u decide to deep vacuum....lol

Might be decent for plants....maybe...

Spend a few bucks and do it right, its worth it in the end.

i have the quickcrete playsand from home depot. looks nice and its fine for aquarium. just gotta rinse it a lot. looks more natural then pool filter sand cuz its not too white. dry and from the bag it looks kinda grey but once underwater with light on it looks nice

That's my 15 gallon play sand tank. It looks really good! I put in some random specs of black gravel so its not bare and it makes it look even better!

Those little red things are leftover cichlid pellets lol don't mind them but look how nice it looks!
