You home owners your electric company ever send you periodic energy reports. Showing similar sqft house there kwh usage. I get them and they show Efficient similar homes use 1659 kWh, Similar homes use 2370 kWh and my home uses 2830 kWh. But what those other similar homes don't have is 3 big fish tanks running 24/7! But on a good note I used 34% less energy then last year at this time.

It says my neighbors use a fraction of what i use lol and then they give me tips on how to save energy

I feel your pain buddy my bill is on a budget and it went up this month to $325 and it was $265 before I have two 420 gallon tanks with 800 watt heaters and two large bead filters with one quarter amp.and a 300 gallon tank with another 800 watt heater and 150 gallon tank with a 400 watt heater. I found that it is cheaper to leave the heat down stairs at 72 and the up stairs at 65 witch works out well because heat rises. My gas bill went up from $85 a month to $135 looking forward to warmer weather when I can unplug all the heaters

My bill is $170 top during the winter months and I attempted to run all energy efficient equipments. I always cover my tank to keep the hear in.

my house was running at about 4000 kwh last January and February, the bill was about $350 for those two month.
