I cant think of the proper name but I need to make one of those things to keep water dripping into the tank to replace evaporation while Im on vacation. How do I make one of these?

A drip system. Larger tanks use them since changing the water in a tank of a few hundred gallons could take 10+ hours. Although I believe you need to be near a well to have one because of the chlorine in tap water.
Why not just use a barrel or even a 5g bucket to let the water sit and let the chlorine evaporate?
You can set up a drip system when you have municipal water, you just have to install the right filters to make sure the chlorine and the chloramines are removed.

I saw a simple one made of a soda bottle. I am talking just to replace evaporating water over the time of a week. A few drops a day.
