i got bored at home and decided to make a hood for my 55 gallon i took upart some dresser drawer's to do it lol u can see in the pics. this isnt permanent just gave me something to do for free what do you think?

i added some trim ill just call this my prototype but i am tempted to paint it and keep it on there
great recycling job! i'm glad that your old dresser did not wind up sitting in a land fill. you stated that it's not meant to be permanent but it's looks good enough to be permanent. keep it.
Now you just gotta raise that picture behind the tank and your golden

Match the paint to the stand and you would never know it was homemade. Very sharp, good use of extra materials around the house.
