In God We Trust
I guess she was swimming on the glass to fast and ran into the inlet tube on a biowheel 350 that is on the pup tank.. I can't see what else could have happened or caused this.. She is alone in a 55 gallon Bare bottom. I sure that eventually it will heal but it is a big chunk that is going to fall off it looks like.

Just got home to see the damage on her disc, she was the best looking pup out of the litter, and was suppose to go to "redtailking" next week. anyway i was going to update some picts that i took of her this morning before the accident, so here they are and the damaged pictures.

Ouch! I don't think it will be the inlet of the penguin 350....As my little female gets her disk sucked from time to time and its just leaves a mark of the inlet...

It is strange how this could have happened...was she always alone in the 55 gallon? Or did you just moved her there due to this?

as soon as she was born (friday night) i moved her and her siblings into this 55... SHe was fine this morning...see other pictures... came home from work to see this.... i don't see how the filter could have done it but it is the only thing that is in there (already sold the other pups)...nothing else... she has been swimming and still is all over the tank up and down...

another picture i took to show how cool her spots are.

Is the inlet covered or not? I usually just take off the cover that comes with it, and even when I see her disk get caught, it doesn't do any damage at all.

it should grow back no problem might leave a little mark but should go back to normal

no it has the "strainer" at the bottom of the tube. I think where the strainer slides over the tube is where it cut her..

Get something to cover that inlet asap.

i cannot believe this caused it but there is no other choice.. i place an aquaclear sponge behind it to get it off the glass... She is a swimmer though and is all over the tank... hopefully this will keep her from hitting it while swimming on the glass.
