Homemade Trickle Sump

I have a ton of plexi glass and would like to build a sump for a trickle filter rather than buy a $300+ new sump. Does any one have any experience with working with plexi glass? Also would like any ideas as to dimensions for a 100 gallon freshwater tank.

I have never worked with plexi or acrylic but a tank 20"x20"x60" will hold around 100g.

do you mean plexi or acrylic? they are two totaly different things. plexi is weaker and more brittle then acrylic. if you want to make a sump for a 100 gallon tank use the size of a 30 gal tank.
