HI EVERYONE, JUST A QUICK MESSAGE GOING OUT TO ANYONE IN THE UK (SOUTH REALISTICLLY) WHO IS AFTER SOME NICE BIG CICHLIDS.​

I WAS IN MY LOCAL FISH SHOP YESTERDAY AND THERE IS A 13" BLACK BELT CICHLID, A 5-6" CONVICT, A BEAUTIFUL 10+" JAGUAR AND A PAIR OF JACK DEMPSEY'S (10 + 7" APPROX)​

THEY ARE FOR SALE AT WHAT I THINK ARE PRETTY GOOD PRICES BUT AS WITH ALL THESE BIG FISH DO NOT SEEM TO BE BEING RE-HOMED, OFF THE TOP OF MY HEAD I THINK THEY ARE​

JAG £40
JACKS £25 EACH OR £40 THE PAIR
BLACK BELT £25
CONVICT £18?​

PRETTY SURE IF SOMEONE WANTS THEM AND IS PREPARED TO TAKE THEM ON THEY WILL GET THEM FOR FREE THOUGH​

I WOULD LOVE TO TAKE THEM ALL BUT MY TANK IS FULL AND THEY ARE ALL JUVIS SO WOULD END UP A HEARTY SNACK FOR ALL BUT THE CONVICT.​

I DO NOT WORK FOR THE SHOP I JUST CAN NOT BEAR TO SEE THEM IN THE SMALL COMPARTMENTS LOOKING UPSET AND WASTING AWAY THROUGH NOT EATING.:(​

small world after all, you probably already know the fish shop i am talking about, i think they are very good and look after the fish well and give good knowledge when asked it is just their lack of large tanks for 'returned fish'. i believe they are remedying this at the moment.

how is the breeding program getting on?

yeah I know that shop. I know all the guys up there as well ;)

not been up there for a while but still see Gareth (the owner)

It is a good place with good stuff but same-old same-old.......
people need to find out what they are going to buy, If someone
was going out to buy a puppy for their one bedroom flat they would
find out about the breeds of dog that would fi tin with their life style
not just see a pic of a cute pup and go buy it to find out they have
just paid out on a neo mastiff. Kind of like people with Juwel Rio 180
and Rio 240's the like buying Jags and Oscars and other big fish.


as for the breeding, the Blue Acaras?
they keep eating the fry after about 2 weeks :screwy:

but nice to meet you, maby I will see you at porton one day (with out knowing it .lol...)
 
true the whole 'BIG FISH' thing is getting more and more of a problem thats why i posted here in an attempt to get them to a good home. i also contacted bournemouth aquarium and they are interested in the jag which is good, went up yesterday and the black belt has been bought and put in a nice big tank on his own which is good news.

nice to meet someone local in to the scene as well
