So i was at my lfs a few weeks ago and was lookin thru the tanks and noticed some "blue convicts" as they wur labeled, and the guy said they wur a hybrid cross between a convict and a texas and im not really into hybrids generally, but i went today and decided to take a closer look at em (to see if they turned into anything interesting) and upon further examination they turned out to be honduran red points, so i decided id buy a few of em since they r kinda hard to get ahold of around here. I paid $3.99 a piece and was wondering how much they generally go for?

you sure they're honduran red points? a lot of places sell "blue convicts" that most of the time turn out to be hybrids of HRP x con. If the store says they're hybrids, then they're probably hybrids. ;)

Here is my fish I bought as an "Electric Blue Convict". Probably a HRP x Convict cross.

She is a great fish though and I like her and she is even bluer in person. She breeds with my female Centrachus about every week.
They take turnslaying eggs.

yeah im pretty shure they r hrp's, i will try to get some pics up as soon as i can so u can tell me wat u think.

my camera isnt quite workin rite now, but im pretty sure they r hrp's the female has the blue coloration and the male has his blue along with the red on the tail so im pretty sure they r hrp's. but ill tryn get some pics up for u guys to see wat u think.

I got about 80 convicts at about an inch long for 10 dollars at an LFS awhile back... fed most of them off to my bigger cichlids... but I kept 11 as breeders to continue supplying more food. A friend of mine suggested there may be some honduran red points mixed in, and now that i read about them and see these pictures, I think they are? They look like cool fish anyways.

Are they currently captive bred anywhere? Or are they just random occurances? Two of the fish I have are DRASTICALLY different looking than the convicts they are with, body shape is a little different, and colour is totally different, they look almost identical in colour to a red-point (although top viewing as they are in a big rubbermaid is not the best to tell).

Cheers,

Chris
