I agree I just wouldn't say vicious but definitely aggressive and would overwhelm the corydoras when breeding. Single male or female definitely would work.
The corys would be harassed by the Honduran red points; if you want catfish, I would go with a Striped Raphael Catfish. They are real beasts (as I own one) and can take a good beating or give a good beating if needed. They are way better than tiny, non-aggressive corys in your setup idea. Also, they are very peaceful, like corys, and won't bother your red points. If you want something slightly smaller, Spotted Raphaels are pretty much the same except a few inches smaller and differently colored and patterned.
