Hose bumped the hood and it fell into the tank, only like 1/4 of the hood was submerged and even less of the bulb/connection point of the bulb. The thing was in contact with water for all of 5 seconds. Will it be alright?

idk because i use internal filters with screen hoods
what kind of hose was it? like a canister filter hose?

Unplug it and let it thoroughly dry out. I'd also remove the bulb and put it in a safe place until everything is dry.

It’s fine. I have very poor vision and have a tendency to drop lids completely into the tank on water change day and it’s never caused any problems unless the lid is plastic which will cause it to bend and warp a little bit making it not fit right ontop.

Nickel for every time I’ve had that problem lol.
Usually that’s with my leds though.
As suggested just let it dry and don’t run for a few days and it should be alright.
