Hood light shorted out.

The hood light got wet while I was messing with the hang on back filter and I wanted to know how do I repair it because I don't know if it's the starter or bulb. While on it crackled then went out.

If it were me, (since I'm neither an electrician nor a mechanic) I'd get a new hood. Electrical faults and damaged electrical parts are dangerous, while electrical faults are the leading cause of fires in businesses and third leading cause in homes.

And a friend of mine (an electrician) has warned me that many people try to "fix" things and end up creating problems, sometimes dangerous ones at that.

The way I look at it, the cost is tiny compared to a fire or electrical injury.

Yeah I just used it for an excuse to upgrade my lighting. just ordered a beamswork.
