Hood resources?

I have been having a terrible time locating a hood for my 65. Versatop doesn't make one that fits either. My tank has the brace in the middle across front to back, so it creates two 17" square openings. Nothing fits this thing.

I am wondering if anybody has a site or info on where I may find something to fit.

Is it custom made? If not who makes it? what are the deminsions of the tank? Glass? And does it have plastic rims on it?

It is a tank I got for free from my girlfriends uncle when he sold his petshop. The dimensions are 24hx36wx18d, but has the support brace making the top openings 17" square on the lips. Oh and yes it is glass.

great thank you for the info, but I also have HOB filters so was really hoping to find a hood so I could keepthose and light this darn thing.

Well these lids are made so that you can use most any type of filter you want. They have a peice of plastic at the back of the tank that can be cut with scissors to make room for the filter. Or you can leave it off and the entire back 2'' or more of the tank is open. And then any type of light can lay on top of the lid. Or if you are using a Diy light you can hang it from the cieling.
