some where over the rainbow
looking for a all glass hood got the light already. so my question is, has anyone delt with them directly and dose anyone know if i can just get the hood with out the light, looked at the LFS today and they only had 30" ones, and i wasent too impressed with them today, so i didnt think i wanted to ask them (sunday is their busyest day and they only had 3 ppl working the fish room, and you culdent even get into the place!)

sorry ahead of time if this isnt in the right place... probly get moved

i saw some at a petsmart the other day if theres one around you they had upto 48" just the hood

yeah was told by my LFS that they dont make them for the aquarium i have its old, and dosent have the center brace. they told me that i would have to go buy glass and have it cut to fit (2 pices like the picture) and on AGAs web site they dont make them anymore (one pice [4 pices of glass])
but thanks for the replys!! going to head over to petco now!

I have purchased replacement hinges from "All Glass" they recommend that you purchase the glass from your local hardware store.

All Glass will give you the thickness that you need. it needs to match the hinge. They only sell the smoke color hinge. You will need a Credit Card to purchase, it take like 2 weeks to arive but they we my best bet.

You will actually be dealing with the parent company "Central Aquatics" when you call. Be patient & nice on the call. They will likely start be saying "we dont sell to end users" just explain that the LSFs have been no help & keep trying to sell you a plastic aftermarket hood. They will agree that glass is the way to go.

I have never tried to get the rear plastic part (that you cut for access) but I would think they would sell that too

Hope this helps.....

For the record... AGA or Central aquatics are some of the nicest people out there. call them today, after calling all the way up to newhampshire pet stores and local, with no luck.
they where very nice and very helpful, ended up haveing a piece of glass cut instead of geting the hood, which i couldent find with out a light and under 50 bucks. the lady i talked to today over at AGA told me that the full hoods are 2 pices just like the glass ones. so i had to get glass cut.

Thanks for all the help and ideas
