Lately when I go fishing and I catch a largemouth bass the hook has been puncturing right below the eye of the fish unsettlingly often. The eye is not damaged(from what I can see from the outside). The hooks I use have a curve in them, every single one of them from 2 different bags from 2 different stores, same brand, could this be the reason? I want this to stop happening because I do not want to hurt the fish and I don't think this should happen.
that is SO simple. switch to a smaller size and a straight shank hook. the fish will be able to get off easier but the hook will stay around the mouth.
and it wont really hurt the fish that much at all. i caught one the same way. it lived in my tank for 2 years before i let him go. so your prolly good to go.
