I've been trying to catch lobster with my hoop nets on public piers. Anybody have experience with this? I'm fairly new at the game, and was wondering if anybody had pointers/tips for me. I leave the nets in for about 15 to 30 mins and for bait, I've tried squid, mackerel, chicken, and fish heads, but have only managed to pull up sting rays that go for the squid. Thanks in advance!

tuna heads have a lot of oil in them so give it a try. Or you could take a walk down to the local piers and see what the more successful commercial guys use. (buying a couple may help get you an answer..haha)

i heard that the more oily a fish is, the better. thanks yogi, i'll keep a look out for tuna heads.

dont live where or been where trhere are lobsters only bluecrabs. Also the bluecrabs like tuna and fish heads.
