Im trying to recall how much I paid but I was one of the ones that spent a fortune on the white sand from the LFS. Expensive but worth it IMO. :D

your bicher has 1 eye?

Yes.. one of my there bichirs only has one eye (which you can see in the picture of the larger one) I bought it for the low sum of $4 from one of my LFS one day when I saw it swimming around lively ass could be chasing guppies. He is about 4" and very active.

hey great tank!

i was wondering how your bicher does with those africans...does h ever attack them or not get enough food?

The feeder guppies as well as the remaining danios (that helped cycle the tank) serve as food as well as high color flakes and frozen bloodworms. The africans have their favorite spots that they will defend from one another but the bichirs just move around the tank like they own the place. Considering the growth rate of the bichir vs the rate of the africans there is the good chance I will have to seperate them at some point but up to now they are very passive. There is a total of 3 senegal bichirs as well as over a dozen cichlids ATM. A lot of it so far seems to depend on the individual fishes personalities so basically... so far so good! B)
