Well me and my girlfriend went for a walk down the creek the other day with a net with the hopes of snagging a few bait fish for my arowana gars and vampire tetra. Long story short we got a bucket full of bait fish and a little bluegill. She absolutely fell in love with it. So I set her up a small 30 gallon in my bedroom for the bluegill. I'll post a couple pics.
Anyway my hopes this year are to aquire a northern pike and muskie. Couple years back I had my 125 filled with pickeral perch bass and one northern. I love that tank. That northern was just gorgeous until he decide to make a jump for it. Lesson learned but he didn't cost me anything so I wasn't too shooken up about it. But hopefully I can get my hands on another this year.

esox species are my favorite, even though they just hover in the water 90% of the time, they have great personalities once they learn who you are

Glad you're hooked on natives :). However, I hope you have a massive (4 digit) tank for large Esox species like Northerns and Muskies. Oh and what kind of fish were you gathering for bait? I live about an hour or so from Franklin and I'm always up for collecting in new streams if there's interesting species.

Im just gathering small chubs to feed my fish (arowana, gars, vampire tetra). I got a couple tanks with the biggest being my 180 but I have high hopes of setting up a large indoor pond for all my massive predators.

Pond would do nicely for those big Esox :). Try keeping chubs sometime, I love my trio, as boring as they look color wise they're very interactable and mine even hand feed.

We even managed to catch a baby trout. We even caught one of the biggest snapping turtles I have ever saw in my life. We Quickly returned him back to his home.

That trout is pretty cool

You got yourself a green sunfish there, not a bluegill, greens get 6-12" and are probably the most aggressive Lepomis, great wet pets. As for the trout, looks like a rainbow fingerling from the pics so keep the temp around 50-66 for optimum health, higher than 70 will eventually kill it.

Did you caught that trout legally?
