Yes, this is a Hypancistrus, not a Leporacanthicus.

Not intending to hijack.... But Davo, can you please explain the visual cues, markings, etc. that led you to the proper ID? I'm a true noob when it comes to plecos and I'm willing to put some effort into learning more about them- plus it'll sound better when I have to explain to the GF why there's another fish in the house....

The only plecos I could think of for this guy are Starry Night Pleco (L-183), Snowball Pleco (L-102), Galaxy pleco (L-007), L-201, or possibly Pseudoacanthicus Angelicus Pleco (L-282).
