here is a tank layout im wanting to start building around December.
the red block is a door, it will open and thats where maint on the sump drawers can be done. you can see the 2 holes @ the bottom of the green in there. thats where the sump water goes after it passes threw drawers. this set up is on both sides of the tank.
the green room is were the sump water fills up, i put glass there also because it would be kinda cool imo to maybe grow a plant in there. some submersible type, i haven't researched ne @tm. could mount a light some how above it or something. just an idea. also if u notice there is no pump in this setup. im thinking (hoping/guessing
) that gravity will do its thing.
the pink box shows where water should be pushed out of the green "room" and fall back out into the tank (one on each side).
the orange is the over flow will go (also one on each side)
the blue is just the glass in front.
the tank all in all should have killer filtration. everything will be confined - no pipes running outside of tank (except i might make one as an overflow for the sump
) the dimensions are 96x48x30. take away 10 inches width for the sump and 10-15 inches length. (both sides). might end up with around 400 gallons. but this design could also be stretched to whatever size. also being able to grow submersible plants on each side would be pretty neat. could throw some tetra's or something in there, and they can breed and do where thing and if some get out into the main tank and become food - so be it. on and the tank is white on the inside on every surface that directly faces the glass, and black on the sides that face away from the glass. the reason for this is kinda because i was thinkin datnoids and i hear they color up better with a white back ground. but @ the same time i didn't want it to just be like "POW!". so the black will calm it down. and i can also rig up different colored lights to directly face the white background and change the color of it.
well. lemme know what you all think!
