Anyone keeping this fish? Where did you get it? What are it's needs? I can't find much about it online but I want it.

I took care of one for a friend for about six months. And have cared for many at my old job.

They get large and very aggressive. They need big tanks as adults. The one I cared for was a bit shy, but I've seen less shy individuals.

Other than that, pretty standard SA Cichlid care is needed.

They aren't available in south florida at least I have never seen one in a store.

I'd love to keep a couple, but I feel that my BP's would get whooped....

You don't have the tank space... They get BIG! And they will murder just about any Cichlid that can't stand up to it once they hit a certain size.

I had a few in the 15,000 for a few years. They were peaceful in it because they were among the smaller fish in it.

I have one male (wild caught) about 6-7" right now in a 180 grow up tank with a peacock bass about the same size and a small stingray. He chases the peacock bass at times. Eats mainly flakes and pellets.

thefishguy Jonathan breeds them in Ohio.
