Hi they do sometimes threaten and lip lock but most of the time they just ignore one another, i brought them both at the same time the chocolate was about 2” and parrot about 4”, I’ve found the parrot to be fairly shy though compared to other big cichlids I’ve kept

I heard these bad boys are sensitive to water conditions, have you had any problems? Thinking about grabbing some my self.

Hi I’ve never had any trouble but this is the only one I’ve kept, I’m pretty sure they are captive bred nowadays so could be the reason he’s a bit hardier than what I’ve read. Also the tank had been up and running for a couple of years first. Water params are ph: 6.8, ammonia: 0, nitrite: 0, nitrate: 25 mg/litre, I’ve not measured hardness but I live in a hard water area, hope this helps
