Just the collection points and the colors seen.
Suriname has the more red colors in them compared to the Browns and blues.
Amapa has the very dark and bold patterns.
Takes on the color of the bottom/leaves/water tint basically to camouflage better.
Color is influenced by diet I imagine too.

I agree with kno4te, as for monster that depends on your specimen, vz and amapa are the ones I see the most, if I were getting an aimaras I'd be looking for tapajos or amapa, tapajos gets the most red AFAIK and I only recall one or two being kept. If I can't get that I'd go amapa because I like how it's jet black.
Rio tapajos is my favorite... So rare though.
