Hoplias amapa heading to uk!

Hey all, ive been emailing Lancashire charachins today and he has some amapa arriving next week, £450 each, very cheap really right. i wish i had a big empty tank sometimes!-)

well i thought it was interesting lol, i hadnt even heard of these, basically a aimara but with a cool pattern!
look like this;

somebody needs to buy these badboys and post a grow out thread and help keep the cool fish being imported to the uk!-)

I've seen the pictures of them on Google. They look like little Aimara for sure. Mine has markings on it like those just not as bold. I haven't done much research on the amapa. I guess I just assumed that they were pictures of smaller Aimara. Got something to study up on while all the snow melts now anyway.

That is a variant of the H. Aimara, from the Amapa river, isn´t it ?

Pattern is visible on juvies, but adults look just like VZ variants...... My bigger Amapa (1.5') is jet black.

Same as smaller vz Aimara for the most part then.

Over here Amapa usually run more $ cause they aren't near as common as VZ.....
