I've managed to find and purchase a Hoplias curupira with a unique & bold color pattern. I am expecting a few more pictures of it tonight or tomorrow morning. The Black Wolffish(Hoplias curupira) is approximately 4"+/- in length. It was listed as a "Royal" color morph. As you can somewhat see in the picture(apologies for the bad quality picture), it has a pattern on its body that is a really contrasting silverish/cream/whitish with darker banding/stripes for lack of better adjectives to describe it. All of the wolffish's finnage is very well striped throughout the whole fins. I've seen a blk wolffish or 2 in the past that were similarly patterned, but none that were anywhere near this extreme. I was told that none of the native fish collectors had ever seen one colored up like this fish is ,and the importer also has never seen one of this extreme color morph. I was also told that the fish was in perfect shape as well. All of the fins are intact and in good shape, also the body and bottom jaw of the fish are in great shape as well. You can tell that whoever caught and housed this fish before exporting it , knew that it might be something special and maybe worth alot more money. It looks as if it was well taken care of. Hopefully, I will receive the "Royal" Black Wolffish at the first of the week. I'll be sure to post more photos asap. Thanks
