Hello all! Please see below pictures. My curupira has recently began rubbing up and down on the glass, causing a sore on the bottom jaw. Fish is eating and acting fine but am starting to notice some sloughing of slime coat on head and outside of gills. Any thoughts? Could this be a bacterial infection stemming from the sore on his bottom jaw. Parameters are on point. Any suggestions?

I have some Furan 2 on the way if needed.

Extra slime coat could be from stress or just not settling down. Would try provide some driftwood/plants and see if the curupira will settle down in it. Would also check ur water as poor water quality will stress fish. What are the tankmates? What are u feeding? Would add a little salt 1 tsp per gallon and a dose of paragaurd.

Thanks. I didn’t even think of that. I have added a clay pot and he seems to have mellowed down a lot. I will add some salt. As far as parameters they are on point. PH 7.4, ammonia and nitrite 0, nitrate 20ppm
