Hey guys. So I'll be picking my 1st Hoplias Intermedius tmr. I used to have some red, purple. I tried to look all over the internet but found very little information about them. So.. can MFKer help me :D. It'll be house in my 75g 1st. Along with my 7" Ntt. They wolf, according to the owner, luckily is eating massivore. So, what are their temper? Max size? and will it get along with my Ntt? The wolf is 7". Thanks guys!

There hasn't been any confirmed intermedius coming in unless you're getting it thru Wes. Anyone else might be giving you something that's not a intermedius. Interesting to see. They will get close to the size of lacs but not really sure. They are aggressive and really depends on the attitude of the fish. The ntt should be ok. i have only seen one confirmed intermedius and that was not in this country. I mean confirmed by importer/collector and not some random on a board. Wow I gotta see this.

By the way.....if you could post a pic of the fish, jawshot, up close of the pores, and lateral line scale count.

Thank you kno4te kno4te ! Once the wolve is in my hand, i'll surely post some pics using my DLSR camera for the best result!

You should try and get pics now so you don't pay more than necessary

You can pay for what u think the fish is worth. As long as ur happy at the end of the day I say. Now the little red wolves that fugu had and sold I suspect were intermedius. So if it's one of those guys then it maybe a great pick up.

the owner doesnt know what species the wolf is. he sent me a blurry vid of the wolf and based on the id chart on the internet, i assume that it's an intermedius. he was asking 30 bucks for it! (IMO it's a great price for any hoplias sp.) but i ended up trading him my 4 geos surinamensis . i'll head out to his place around 2pm today, after that gonna head to Toms. Once i get home, i'll be taking a lot of pictures!
